On the 28th September 1880, special leave was granted by the Court, on the application of Mead Periton & Wotton, Solicitors, for certain creditors who had proved in the matter of N... Bankrupt, calling upon the Official Assignee in the said Bankruptcy, Mr Gibbons, to attend before the Judge in Bankruptcy to show cause why an order should not be granted prohibiting him from proceeding with the sale of the life interest of the Bankrupt in certain premises in Nongthong, advertisement of which appeared in the "Daily Press" of that morning.
Later in the day the matter came before the Chief Justice in chambers. De Wotton appeared in support of the application. Mr Stephens appeared for the Official Assignee, who also attended.
